From April 2021 the rates of pay for the National Minimum Wage and the National Living Wage will be increased. The National Minimum Wage is still relevant for workers under 23 and apprentices. Everyone else is entitled to the National Living Wage

Note that the National Living Wage is now applicable to all employees 23 and over (this previously applied to employees over 25).

From 1 April 2021 the following rates apply:

  Aged 23 or over Aged 21 to 22 Aged 18 to 20 Aged 16-17 Apprentice Rate
New Rate: £8.91 £8.36 £6.56 £4.62 £4.30
Increase: 2.2% 2.0% 1.7% 1.5% 3.6%

Please be aware that when an employee turns 18, 21 or 23 their pay will increase on that date.
